Death Note All-in-One Manga Edition unboxing

Some of you may have seen my Twitter but I recently bought the entire manga collection Death Note all in one book, literally! As a way to promote the live-action Netflix film Death Note movie, Viz Media, English Company that license the manga and anime of titles like Death Note, Naruto and others, licenses and re-release the entire 12-volume of Death Note and compile it into a single book. With this book in my collection, I will talk about the interesting details of the book and I won’t spoil anything related to the story.

When you buy the book new, it has a promotional sticker attached to the plastic wrap promoting the Netflix movie. The book itself is actually encased in a protective case that helps clear away from dust and keep the pages white.

The white sleeve case displays Light with the characters in front and on the edges, it shows the Shinigami Ryuk staring at you. Once you take out the case, you get the book itself with all the pages compressed and the cross on the cover.

Here comes the meat! The book is very small compared to the other manga I own. According to the description, the manga edition has shrunk to pocket size for easy holding and make it easier than caring it like a VizBig or carrying a case of individual books. I was worried that the book was going to have transparent pages; from I heard, the 3-in-1 of the Dragon Ball manga had issues where the paper was too thin. However, the pages in the manga here wasn’t see through and it felt really fine. The binding of the book is pretty strong and durable! You can turn the page to all the way back to the book or start in the beginning and it doesn’t damage the book. I did look into the book and we do get an Epilogue chapter as promised but the took away the funny comic panels instead. One of the comic that I liked is when Ryuk asks Santa Light for a silver GameBoy Advance SP, but it didn’t show up and I think the only way to see it again is if you have the individual books or the black editions (2-in-1).

Overall, the One-in-All set is perfect for new and old fans. It helps collect the entire story and the price is reasonable. I got my book from Barnes and Noble for $28 online and that was with taxes in it. If you don’t mind having a large pocket as oppose to a manga volume, I would recommend it.

Friday Funny 128: Serving tasty memes better than Pumpkin Spice Latte!

TGIF!

Thank God it’s Friday! Welcome again for another fantastic Friday. I am here to share some nice and tasty memes for this fall season. Today is the last Friday of September and after this weekend, we will be in October, the tenth month. October is a good month because the weather is suppose to cool down and put summer to rest (hopefully! In CA, the weather could be hot and dry or cold and dry.)

You might have noticed the lack of news posts and just posts in general, well I got some life-changing news to share that I have been keeping away for a while. I haven’t said this earlier because life is throwing challenges not only me but also my family. Well, here is the news: My family and I are moving. We are living the city and moving to a more quiet environment. For more than 20 years, we have lived in the city for a while and now, we feel like the city has been too busy and the world has filled with many crazy events. As we move to a new area in California, we hope that life will feel easier and in a calm atmosphere. That is the biggest news in my life. I will try to remind it again for next but next week will probably be busy because I am moving. In both Friday and Saturday, I will be moving. Just in case if things get too hectic, I might not be able to blog until things get settled; however, if there is time to blog, I will be able to talk to you guys. I don’t want to cause panic to any of you if you guys start to wonder. (Not to mention, since my anime and manga is all boxed together, I have to put on a break on my anime viewing.)

In the anime world, precisely Toonami, Tomorrow is the last episode of season 2 Tokyo Ghoul Root A. Next week, the popular series Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans returns to Toonami with an English Dub of Season 2!

With this said, let’s get October ready by raising our flags!

To conclude this post, here are some interesting videos I found very interesting from a blogger named Joseph of Scorpzgca. I recommend checking his blog for any video game and comic book news:

To say goodbye to Tokyo Ghoul in Toonami, here is the opening and ending song of season 2:

Also, don’t forget to read Allie’s fanfiction! If you visit her, tell her I sent you there :). Here are the following episodes:

Bye! See you at Anteiku!

Friday Funny 127: The Fall of Summer

TGIF!

Thank God it’s Friday! Welcome back to another episode of my well famous Friday Funny posts! I am back from vacation and I am here to give you some laughs and some news. Today is the official beginning of the season Fall and the end of Summer. Here in the United States, the weather will get colder and the color of leaves will change and fall down. However, in California, just like my friend Allie says, California is well-known for its bipolar weather where in fall, one day will feel like a comfortable cool day and another day will feel like summer again. As we reach fall, get ready for the upcoming season in October, November, and December! Speaking of change, there is also some upcoming change that will also affect me personally, but I will keep you guys inform probably next week; it will affect my blogging.

Besides that, if you guys seen the horror remake classic It, be cautious of the return of scary clowns at night! If you don’t like clowns, there are some other horror live-action anime movies you can sit and enjoy. You can watch the Netflix Death Note or reserve your ticket to see the live-action movie Tokyo Ghoul. Funimation states that the movie will be in select theaters in October 16 to 22.

With this said, let’s begin this post will laughs and giggles. Bring your pumpkin spice coffee, balloons, apple and let’s get spooky!

To end this post, here are some random videos!

Something funny!

See ya!

Final Fantasy video game news!

Final Fantasy game news incoming!

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT

Revealed at the Tokyo Game Show, Square Enix revealed a new trailer to the game upcoming game Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. The trailer shows the heroes of light gathered together and  talking about what’s going on. The gameplay also shows an improved HUD screen and new action sequences. One of the biggest moment in the video revealed Noctis from Final Fantasy XV. The trailer shows Noctis fighting Garland with his fight style and his waypoint attacks. The game is set to be released in NA in January 2018 for PS4.

Final Fantasy XV

Also revealed today, Square Enix unvield another addition to the game Final Fantasy XV. On October 31, 2017, players who have the season pass will be able to download and play Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer Expansion: Comrades. In this video, players will be able to create their own avatar and with either partake in single or multi missions. Taking place within the story, your character, a Lucian Kingsglaive, will work with characters like Cor, Cid and others in hopes of fighting Daemons. The trailer even includes a new song composed by well-known Final Fantasy composer,  Nobuo Uematsu; the new song is titled “Choosing Hope”. Here is the synopsis of the story (This will contain Spoilers!):

For the first time, Final Fantasy XV players will be able to create their own character and join up with three other friends to take on epic quests and battles in the game’s first and only online multiplayer expansion titled “Comrades.” Starting October 31, players will set foot as a survivor from Kingsglaive to find out more about the disappearance of Noctis after the events in Chapter 13 from the main game. Set in a world engulfed by darkness, the expansion casts players as a member of the Kingsglaive, with powers and unique abilities invoked from various Lucian kings, who join forces to bring the Light back to the kingdom of Lucis. Other members of Noctis’s crew including Gladiolus, Prompto and Ignis will be made playable in future game updates. As members of Kingsglaive, players equip royal sigils that grant special powers from the Lucian bloodline. Players can then strategize and create a balanced team to take on a variety of quests. In addition to multiplayer quests, single player quests are also available for players to enhance their characters.

As part of the promotion, the game is currently on sale for 20% off and if players buy the game within 9/19 through 9/26, players will not only get the game cheap but they will be awarded with a custom theme for the PS4 and avatar profile pictures designed by Toshiyuki Itahana.

Anime News: No more DVDs from Sentai Filmworks

I found out this news in my newsletter and it was also mentioned in Twitter.

According to the English License company Sentai Filmworks, the company is hoping to phase out all home DVDs formats for future anime by 2019. This means that in 2019 and the future, all anime will most likely be sold as Blu-Ray sets (standard or Premium) or digital series. However, certain older anime that already has been sold in DVD format (Clannad, Angel Beats, Parasyte, Akame ga Kill or other DVD released titles) will still be sold.

As part of the recent news, Sentai Filmworks will be giving shoppers a free Blu-Ray DVD player if they make a purchase of $299 or more in the online store. The promotion begins in September 19 to September 30.

This is surprising news since most people prefer buying DVDs or DVD combos. With the future progressing, Sentai Filmworks wants fans to experience anime in Hi-Def. I don’t think I will do this offer since PS3 and PS4 already has a built-in Blu-Ray player inside.
