Friday Funny 147: Let the games begin!

TGIF!

Thank God it’s Friday! Welcome back to another exciting episode of Friday Funny. In this new episode, I am here to bring you some good humor and help start the weekend. How is everyone doing? Did you see the Super Bowl this past Sunday. There were so many interesting movie trailers and funny commercials. In movies, we got to see teaser trailers of movies such as Solo, Avengers: Infinity War and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. In the football game however, the Patriots lost! The winner was the Philadelphia Eagles! I am a Raiders fan, but I wanted the Patriots to lose and seeing them lose made me happy. Seriously, am I the only one that I felt like the sports commentators favoring the Patriots more than the Eagles? The Eagles were doing good but one of the commentators keep saying stuff like a touchdown doesn’t count!!! Besides that, as we move on from football, get ready for another sports event: The 2018 Winter Olympic Games in South Korea! If you plan to watch the series, make sure you support your teams out there! May the best man and woman win!

With all said, let’s start this Friday!

To end this post, here are fun videos!

(I skipped the 2014 intro because it is too short. Very disappointing.)

(I try not abuse this song but I just had to do. Sorry!)

Who take the gold? Bye!

If you ever seen the anime Kill la Kill or Sword Art Online season 2, you might have heard her sing in the first opening songs. Recently announced in her site and Anime News Network, the singer Eir Aoi comes out of hiatus. She is planning to come back and perform in the spring.

If you did not know, Eir Aoi took an indefinite hiatus in November 2016 due to poor health. She actually announced on August 2016 that she would cancel her plans in special activities. Until then, she has taken the time to heal and rest herself. Now in 2018, she is back and ready to do more songs.

The Unique Blogger Award by Moonid

I want to thank Moonid for nominating me for the Unique Blogger Award. Sorry for the delay, I am happy to do these awards. Here is the rules on what to do:

#1 – Share the link of the blogger who has shown love to you by nominating you.

#2 – Answer the questions.

#3 – In the spirit of sharing love and solidarity with our blogging family, nominate 8-13 people for the same award.

#4 – Ask them 3 questions

Here’s the questions:

  1. If you could make one anime/novel/movie/series/whatever, what would be the synopsis for it?

Anime title: DevAn: I am better than you!

Anime Synopsis: No matter who you are, we all have a conscience. Conscience is represent by good and evil and they are governed by two beings: an angel who represents pure and love and the devil who presents evil and corruption. Every human is challenged by temptation and it’s up to humans to make the decision to follow what is good. However, what would happen when the worst angel and the ironic kindly devil are teamed up and forced to guide people’s decision. Let’s just say, it’s so hectic that Heaven and Hell won’t get involved. This is a series of stories about a not so good angel and a not so bad devil.

2. Who could be considered your ‘Hero’ to look up to and why do you consider that person as such? (can be either fictional or real)

I think my heroes in real life would be my parents. They make good decisions in life. When I say good, I don’t mean it as avoid mistakes. but I say good as in what is right and what can we do with love. In fiction, my hero would be Spider-Man and Captain America. Spider-Man is a hero who takes responsibility seriously. I think if people wanted to be like Spider-Man, we need to be willing to accept responsibility and be there when we are in a situation. For Captain America, I like how he fights for what is right and does it for America.

3. For some unknown reasons, you wake up on a strange magical fantasy land. What would be your ideal first meeting with the living beings on this fantasy land? (e.g. I would like to wake up on a strange classroom and notice that I’m suddenly a teacher to a classroom of 15 people; so yeah, Isekai thing).

I would probably see myself like as someone who is mistaken as a hero for the weak. If you seen the movie Oz the Great and Powerful, you will understand. I imagine myself as someone who thinks I am a hero who is meant to protect others from someone menacingly.

Nominees:

My Questions:

  1. What is your favorite and least favorite food?
  2. What is your pet peeve?
  3. If you can bring any fictional character to this world, who would it be and what would be the first thing you will do?

Just like the Cell Games in Dragon Ball Z, if you don’t do this award within 7 days, I will have no choice, but destroy the Earth because you didn’t want to participate in this fun blog post. It will be a bad time for Valentines Day!

(In the anime it’s 10 days, but I am not Cell so I will make it 7 days.)

[OWLS February Blog Tour] Clannad: Competition with today and past life

Competition

In honor of the 2018 Winter Olympics, this month topic will focus on the theme, “Competition” because the Olympics is where athletes from all countries join together to compete in sporting events. Through these events, we see how “competition” brings out the grit, the teamwork, and the competitive spirit within athletes. This month, we will be exploring anime and pop culture media that discusses the good and the bad when it comes to competition and what it can teach us about ourselves and the world around us.

(For this topic, I will be talking about Clannad. I might reveal some spoilers to the anime; however, I won’t be talking about the main story that much and I will talk on some minor stuff. I won’t be talking about the ending of the anime as well.)

Please read BeckNaja‘s Competition post in the topic series Ashita no Joe.

Friday Funny 146: Hate the game, not the player!

TGIF!

Thank God it’s Friday! Happy Friday everyone! This is Matthew and I am here to let you know that we have left January and already landed in February. This is the last month to have winter so enjoy as much you can until we get to March. Before we begin, I want to share with you some news and events coming up for February. Besides Valentines Day and the movie Black Panther, get ready for some sports events! This Sunday is the 52nd NFL Super Bowl. The teams the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles will be clashing each other and only one team will take home the title. Who will win? Will the Eagles win and finally beat the unstoppable Patriots or will the Patriots win another game like last year with a come back. To be honest, I am a Raiders fan but I want the Eagles to win. If you are not into sports like me, stay tuned for movie trailers and crazy commercials. Brace yourself for some new memes for halftime and commercials. For movies, I hear that they will be showing a trailer for the movie Solo: A Star Wars Story. Based on what I hear, this movie will talk about a young Han Solo and it will be a movie tied into the main story just like Rogue One.

Another sports event coming besides the Super Bowl is the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games. The Olympics will begin in February 9 through 25th. The Winter Olympics will take place in South Korea. If you are a fan of sports and want to see your team win, make sure you show support!

Last but not least in my life, I got video games. I got two new fighting games recently released in January. One is Dragon Ball FighterZ and the other is Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. Both are great fighting games and I happy to spend my money on them. I got another game but it’s a year old but I wanted it, I finally got NieR: Automata. This game really does remind me of Bayonetta because of the combat, but it also has a Final Fantasy feel. Also yes, I used the redemption code from the cup noodles and I got a costume DLC for Noctis!

With all this said, let’s get this Friday started!

Friday Funny 145: Fantasy FighterZ

TGIF!

Thank God it’s Friday! Hello everyone in WordPress or Internet people, this is Matt once again to bring you your daily medicine. I got some exciting video game news to share with you. This is the last Friday of January and I want to conclude this month with this funny post. Today is the official release of the anticipated anime video game Dragon Ball FighterZ! With the combined works of Bandai Namco of Entertainment and Syste, Arc Works, get ready to play a new Dragon Ball fighting game with an interesting original story, fighting mechanics and even a new character designed by DB creator Akira Toriyama, Android 21. This game has gained a lot of positive feedback for its gameplay and how the game captures every motion from the manga and anime. This game was also considered a great fighting game at E3 and from the news I hear, it even tops Street Fighter V, Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite and some say it might even defeat the upcoming crossover fighting game BlazBlue: CrossTag Battle. The best part of it is that Bandai Namco announced that this game will have loot box; HOWEVER, you don’t need to pay with real money; you use in game money to get stuff. Take notes EA!

There’s more news for the fighting genre! On Jan 30th, Square Enix and Team Ninja will be releasing the fighting spin-off Dissidia Final Fantasy NT! This game is a PS4 port of the Japanese arcade game from 2015 and now  players in the USA and UK can play this game on PS4. This game story will take place after the events from the PSP and it will have characters all the way up to XV. Noctis from FFXV will be joining the characters and getting involved with unfamiliar characters. The English voice cast returns and resume their roles and the gameplay will have 3v3 matches. For something fun, take this Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Quiz and test your skills on how much you know Final Fantasy. It’s a multiple choice quiz consisting of 30 questions. I am a Mellow Moogle!

Before you even pick your controllers, let’s look at some memes and tip me at my Ko-fi:

The new service is called Pokemon Channel and the service will also include TV seasons, specials like Pokemon: Origins and movies. According to Amazon, the movies will be rotated “regularly” which means that the movies they stream will be changed periodically. Here is what is being streamed currently:

  • Pokemon 3: The Movie
  • Pokemon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew
  • Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea
