D23 news: Kingdom Hearts III new updates!

Hello good people, I got some news from D23 in regards to Kingdom Hearts III. All the news came from IGN, Game Informer and Twitter user Crash Maku Fantasy @RedMakuzawa  .

Toy Story

This Saturday, Square Enix released a new gameplay trailer of Kingdom Hearts III. The trailer revealed Sora demonstrating news moves like using the Guardian form and also teaming up with Hercules in Mount Olympus. The biggest highlight of the trailer revealed a Toy Story World! Sora, Donald and Goofy becomes toys and they help Woody and Buzz find Andy and their missing friends and stop the Heartless and the return of Young Xehanort. This is so far the only Pixar world in Kingdom Hearts.

This is random but relevant news, but Kingdom Hearts II had some codes inside that they were planning to have Woody and Buzz as summon characters but they were removed last minute.

Kingdom Hearts III and HD collection in Switch and Xbox?

Game director Tetsuya Nomura mentions at the D23 that the possibility of Kingdom Hearts III, 1.5+2.5, and 2.8 could be available for Nintendo Switch maybe after they get they release Kingdom Hearts III for Xbox One and PS4. He also mentioned that the following games besides III could get ported for Xbox One as well. However, a Switch release is not a definite answer and it is only a possibility. Here is what Nomura said:

“The Nintendo Switch is definitely a very interesting piece of hardware, but if we lightly say, ‘Oh yeah, we’ll be on the Nintendo Switch,’ I’m sure people will come back and say, ‘But what about the PS4 and Xbox One? We want them out first. Don’t focus on other platforms,’” Nomura told IGN. “So for now, we want to focus on what platforms we’ve already announced we’re going to be releasing Kingdom Hearts 3 on. And so after, perhaps, maybe we can start thinking about other possibilities.”

So in short, Kingdom Hearts III must be released for PS4 and Xbox One first before they tackle on Switch or any other previous titles.

Other playable characters for Kingdom Hearts III?

Kingdom Hearts is well-known for a diverse cast of characters. Besides playing only as Sora, players can sometimes play as Riku, Roxas, Aqua or others; however, today’s recent update reveal some exciting news. Tetsuya Nomura hinted that other characters can be playable besides Sora. Also revealed, the game will have up to five characters joining the party. It was first introduced in the Orchestra trailer, with Sora, Donald, Goofy and Hercules, and now revealed in the Toy Story trailer, players will have many characters helping the player. The video showed Sora, Donald, Goofy, Woody and Buzz working together.

Gummi Ship is back!

Confirmed by the director, the Gummi Ship returns for the game. The Gummi Ship gameplay has not been revealed but it is back. It’s unsure how will it play. In the past games like KHI and II, players use it to travel to different worlds, shoot enemies and even customize their ship.

Be sure to follow @RedMakuzawa for Square Enix news like Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy XV or other Sqare Enix titles.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST (I forgot to mention this) the trailer ends with the possibility of a release date. Kingdom Hearts III might be released for 2018.
