It’s an exciting age of heroes, where most people develop supernatural abilities known as Quirks. Bright-eyed kids like Izuku Midoriya—Deku for short—dream of the day they become champions of the people. There’s just one little problem standing in Deku’s way. In a world full of heroes, he’s Quirkless. Crushed, but not down for the count, this superhero-fanboy dedicates his time to studying the pros in hopes that he, too, can join a prestigious high school for heroes. In the face of despair, Deku’s courage catches the eye of his ultimate idol, the symbol of justice known as All Might! With special training from the big guy himself, Deku and the talented first-years of the academy may finally have a shot at achieving their dreams. But these amateurs are put to the test of a lifetime when routine training becomes a battle against real villains!
Hello everyone, this is Matthew and I am here to write another special unbox post on one of my anime DVDs. In this post, I will be sharing the details on my copy of the limited edition of My Hero Academia Season 1. I got this DVD for a real good price during a sale from Rightstuf when they were having those Mega Deal days in the summer; I got it for about $35. This post will be short and I won’t spoil the anime.
The limited edition came in with a plastic wrap which contained the cardboard DVD/Blu-Ray boxset. Wrapped with the box is a replica of Izuku Midoriya’s notebook in which contains the superhero All Might’s signature. The notebook does not fit in the box since it is occupied with two DVD cases and an artbook. The case for the set is contained with hardcover case slip and it has inside, two DVD cases with both DVD and Blu-Ray discs. In one of the cases, it has a small keychain of the protagonist Izuku Midoriya. Along with set, it also has an artbook of the anime characters. It’s a book which shows the characters appearance and color and sketches.
Overall, the limited edition has both formats for viewing pleasures, a notebook with an autograph of All Might, an artbook and a keychain. If this set goes on sale again, I recommend getting this copy instead of the standard version.

Based on the posts I seen, you are supposed to match characters you pick and how it corresponds the character in the anime. For example, in the category “A character every other character loves” Haruhi is known for that in the anime. It’s up to you to decide based on your decision what other characters (anime, video game or other fiction) fits in the category. Capili chose Cloud Strife for this choice since she believes that everyone loves Cloud. Now in my choice, I am going to do my best to choose character which best fits each category.
1. Theme Song – a misleading character.
Satsuki from Kill la Kill. I chose her because she first acts like an antagonist in the anime but later on she is not the true bad guy in the series.
2. Haruhi – A character every other character loves.
Kirito from Sword Art Online. Love him or hate him, he is a popular character in the anime. He also has the attention on the girls in the anime.
3. Tamaki – A character who started a movement.
Naruto from the Naruto series. This guy not only inspires his friends to fight but he also influnces us fans in the real world. Naruto is an example of someone who started from the bottom and moved up in life and fulfilling his dreams.
4. Kyoya – a character with parental issues.
Tomoya from Clannad. This poor guy lost his mother and his father wasn’t the best figure in his life. He wasn’t used to being in a family after meeting Nagisa’s nice family.
5. Kaoru and Hikaru – Brotherly Love.
Noctis and Prompto from Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV. This is semi anime and video game. In the video games, Noctis and Prompto acts like brothers and they like to work together and fight. They also like to play video games.
6. Mori – A character who is scary on the outside but a bundle of fluff on the inside.
Piccolo from Dragon Ball. He may look intimating but he is actually a softy. He cares about Gohan more than his father Goku and he knows how to babysit babies like Pan in Dragon Ball Super.
7. Honey – a character who loves to eat.
Luffy from One Piece. This young pirate loves to eat anything. His favorite balanced meal is meat and no matter how much he eats, he won’t stop until he is satisfied.
8. Renge- A Tag Along character.
Speedwagon from JoJo Bizarre Adventures. First started off as an antagonist but after seeing the kindness in Jonathan, he decides to tag along with him as they try to stop the villain Dio from taking over the world even if he is not strong like them.
9. Nekozawa- A Character who likes the dark side.
Light Yagami from Death Note. Even though he hates evil, he becomes evil and tries to cleanse the world. Overall he is a corrupt guy who would use darkness to get rid of darkness.
Tapping 8 people!
- Rocco B.
- E.I. Wong
- Galantic Pheonix
That’s all folks! I hope you enjoyed the post. If you didn’t get picked, you can still do this post. As long you give credit to the creator of the tag, you will be fine. 🙂
Announced at the Dengeki Bunko “Aki no Saiten 2017”, Sword Art Online will be receiving some new anime from two announcements!
The first one announced is a third series to the anime and the name of the new show is called Sword Art Online: Alicization. The anime third season was teased in the end of the movie Ordinal Scale. So far, they released a key image to the anime along with returning casts of Kirito and Asuna. New voice actors will play as new characters:
- Eugeo: Nobunaga Shimazaki
- Alice: Ai Kayano
This arc takes place after Mother Rosario and the movie Ordinal Scale. It will be based on Reki Kawahara’s light novel.
Another anime getting an anime adaptation is a spinoff series based on Sword Art Online but written by Sigsawa Keiichi, illustrated by Kuroboshi Kouhaku and supervised by Reki Kawahara. The series is called Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online Alternative.
Here is the synopsis of the story:
The story follows Karen Kohiruimaki, a 183-centimeter-tall (6-foot-tall) college student who’s insecure her height, and is bad at dealing with people in the real world. She enters the world of Gun Gale Online with her avatar, Llenn, who is less than 150 centimeters (5 feet) tall and wears all pink. She meets a beautiful, brown-skinned female player who goes by Pitohui. They hit it off, but one day Pitohui pressures her to participate in “Squad Jam,” a team Battle Royale variation of the Bullet of Bullets tournament
With the criticism of the Death Note Netflix film and the live-action announcement with J. J. Abrams directing Your Name. you think Hollywood would take the hint and stop making live-action movies of anime. However, that won’t stop them when they have permission and money. Already mentioned a while back, Skydance Television announced that they want to do a live-action series of the anime Sword Art Online. Recently, Skydance Television announced that they found some new writers to help lead the project. These writer-producers Patrick Massett and John Zinman made a deal with Kadowawa Corp to help create the live-action series. Patrick and John are responsible for the works of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001 version with Angelina Jolie), The Blacklist and Friday Night Lights.
The pilot episode will, however, be written together with Laeta Kalogridis (Avatar). Here is a quote from Hollywood Reporter:
“Patrick and John have shown incredible range in their storytelling capabilities, from subtle character drama to big, world-building action, and we are beyond fortunate that they have joined the Skydance family,” said Skydance Television president Marcy Ross. “We’re already deep in development with Patrick, John and Laeta on our larger-than-life Skydance SAO series in which we aim not only to satisfy the franchise’s enthusiastic sci-fi and anime fan base but also to appeal to new TV audiences the world over.”
“The fantastical world of SAO offers an unparalleled opportunity to tell stories that resonate on both an epic and human scale. We couldn’t ask for better partners than Skydance and Laeta to help us bring this global pop culture phenomenon to new life on television,” said Massett and Zinman in a joint statement.
What do you guys think of this news?
Announced at the Tokyo Game Show recently, Konami’s app game Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links will be heading to the PC version in Winter 2017. According to the English Facebook page, the game will be available to play in the PC via Steam. What’s even better is that players who wishes to play on PC instead of mobile phone, players can transfer their game data to PC with everything they owned.
It is also revealed that Konami are planning to release an update which will allow players to duel and meet characters from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX.
I found out this news in my newsletter and it was also mentioned in Twitter.
According to the English License company Sentai Filmworks, the company is hoping to phase out all home DVDs formats for future anime by 2019. This means that in 2019 and the future, all anime will most likely be sold as Blu-Ray sets (standard or Premium) or digital series. However, certain older anime that already has been sold in DVD format (Clannad, Angel Beats, Parasyte, Akame ga Kill or other DVD released titles) will still be sold.
As part of the recent news, Sentai Filmworks will be giving shoppers a free Blu-Ray DVD player if they make a purchase of $299 or more in the online store. The promotion begins in September 19 to September 30.
This is surprising news since most people prefer buying DVDs or DVD combos. With the future progressing, Sentai Filmworks wants fans to experience anime in Hi-Def. I don’t think I will do this offer since PS3 and PS4 already has a built-in Blu-Ray player inside.
This is my response to Shay’s video and Kauses (creator of Otaku Gamer Zone) post. In this special post, I will briefly discussing how did I get into anime and what kind of shows did I see growing up. I am going to use the best of my best memory to write down my life. It may not be 100% but I am going to share it. I don’t want to bore you with the details so I will just briefly describe my experience.
As we approach fall, get ready for some new movies. As people get ready for movies like Justice League or Thor: Ragnarok, anime movies will also be heading towards select theaters too!

He then later tries to redeem himself and seek to apologize to Shoko. This anime was worked with Kyoto Animation.

Thank God it’s Friday! Welcome again to TGIF Friday Funny, a day where I post up more silly content. I hope everyone is doing okay as we make it to the another week of September. As Hurricane Harvey drifts away, Hurricane Irma appears and I pray that everyone will be safe on the East side of the United States. This week is also the beginning of the a new blog tour for the OWLS. If you go to the blog, we already started a new topic called Treasures in which we talk about the importance of what is that we value and the dangers of mental illness.
In my life news, I completed the story for the DLC for the game Final Fantasy XV Assassin’s Festival. I am hoping to do a review for the story and what I thought about this collaboration. I also started watching a new anime and it’s called My Hero Academia. So far this anime has a great cast of characters and I love the music in it. Also most importantly, this month will be very busy this month as I will deal with stuff related with my family. As a heads up, my blog writing might be cut down a bit as we get to the middle of the month. Hopefully, this won’t lead to a hiatus or a break but just in case I disappear this month, something has come up. I will still try to blog as usual and I will keep you guys informed.
With this said, let’s have fun!
Some of you have seen the Netflix Death Note 2017 movie and I bet you guys were traumatized on how awful (or good) on the presentation. To help boost or forget the live action movie, here are some anime clips.
But wait there’s more! To end this post, please check out my best friend Allie’s blog. Just like me, she is a writer like me and she made a blog to write out a fan-fiction of her favorite cartoon Loonatics Unleashed and she made her own adaptation of season 3. Please help and give her feedback on her writing. She is a more awesome writer than myself and she would be happy if she had people read them. Once you read them or at least one, tell her I said hi!
