TGIF Friday Funny 97: March! March! March!

TGIF!

Thank God it’s Friday! Welcome back to another episode of Friday Funny! Before we begin, I got some important news to tell. As we get close to March (my favorite month), a lot of new events and things are coming and it’s important to be prepared. Here is what to expect:

Important:

My Birthday is on March 28th!!!

Movie

Logan (March 3): This Marvel movie is the last film of the Wolverine series and it will be Hugh Jackman’s last performance of Wolverine.

Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale (March 9th ONLY): Created by Reki Kawahara, the movie will take place after Sword Art Online II and it will involve Kirito and his friends playing a game with augmented-reality devices.

Kong: Skull Island (March 10th): According to Wikipedia, this movie will serve as a reboot to the King Kong movies and apparently a prequel to 2014 Godzilla movie. This movie talks about a crew visiting a dangerous island filled with creatures and one is a giant ape called King Kong.

Beauty and the Beast (March 17th): Disney once again turns a classic cartoon into a live-action film. Emma Watson (well-known for being Harry Potter) will be Belle and show the frighting Beast the importance of love and kindness.

Power Rangers (March 24th): Based on the popular franchise, Power Rangers will finally be in the big screen and it will be based on the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. The cast will feature new characters in a dark story. It is said it plans to have 7 more films.

Ghost in the Shell (March 31st): Based on the 1995 anime film, Scarlett Johansson will play as Motoko Kusanagi and will fight against a hacker who wants to destroy technology.

Games

Nintendo Switch (March 3rd): From NES to the 3DS, Nintendo will be releasing a new console but it will also play as a portable device. The Nintendo Switch is a portable game console where players can play video games at home or on the go. New games are expected to be in the console like Mario, Link, Sonic and 3rd party games like Skyrim.

NieR: Automata (March 7th): If you like Square Enix and you like hack-and-slash beat’em ups, this game is for you. This game is a spinoff of the NieR game and players will be able to play as the female character 2B and much more and fight against an apocalyptic world. Check out my impression post to learn about the game’s demo.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 (March 28th): If you have ever wanted to join the Kingdom Hearts fandom or want to relieve the classic games on better graphics, I recommend getting this game. This game includes 6 games (excluding 2.8) and it will introduce old and new fans to better Kingdom Hearts experience!

Final Fantasy XV DLC: Gladiolus Episode (March 28th): In this DLC, whether you got this free from the season pass or just paid $5, players will experience Final Fantasy XV in a different perspective. Players will control Gladiolus and experience his story and skills as he teams up with Cor and fight powerful monsters and also Gilgamesh.

TV/Movies

As far as I know I found two interesting news:

Samurai Jack season 5 (March 11th) : If you have been watching Toonami on Saturdays, you may have noticed that Toonami are showing season 1 of Samurai Jack. On March 11th, Samurai Jack returns with a new season. The creator and people return and they make the story even violent and dark.

Boruto: Naruto the Movie (March 28th): Taking place after the original story, the movie stars a new cast of a new generation of ninjas. Naruto is Hokage and everyone are adults and helping the new kids. Boruto is Naruto’s son and he wishes to be better than his father. He even gets help from Naruto’s friend/rival Sasuke, who is now his mentor.

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (or DanMachi for short) (March 28th): If you like anime with fantasy and video game themes, this anime is for you. Based on the light novel, Sentai Filmworks releases the anime in English Dub will feature voices the fan favorite characters like white-haired Bell and the cute goddess Hestia!

  1. March is defiitely a perfect month for a Birthday. There really are so many great things coming out that it’s crazy! It really is a good time to be a game and anime fan

  2. I’m really hoping I actually get to go see the Beauty and the Beast movie. It might not be all that, but I think it is one live action Disney adaptation I’d really like to see. Of course, it would be great to see SAO as well, though my chances of getting to a town with a cinema in March are pretty slim.

    • I have a good feeling this movie will be great like the cartoon. The movie looks promising and I did like their versions with Cinderella and The Jungle Book.
I want to Sword Art Online very badly but I am hoping I am not busy on that day.

  3. So many great and awesome things to look forward to in March that I can hardly wait for it all to arrive. Logan and Ghost in the Shell are absolute must sees for me. I wish Sword Art Online would be on that list as well, but I unfortunately live in a country where anime movies never make it into theatres. Great post as always, and ofcourse have a great weekend 😀

    • Thank you :). I am actually looking forward to those movies. That stinks that most anime films are limited to regions. If only it was expanded. Anime is popular everywhere and not limited. 🙂

  4. Thumbs up for that guns-replaced-with-thumbs-up funny 😋 Horizon Zero Dawn is what I’m most looking forward to in March, for sure. Just a few more days 👏
