Otakon News: Sekai Project! Aniplex USA!! Discotek!!! Also Iwata’s Legacy?!

Dang Otakon, back at it again with those news!

Sekai Project

Announced at Otakon, Sekai Project announced that they will release the visual novel game Narcissu 10th Anniversary Anthology for PS4 and PS Vita, including the recent PC version. Sekai Projects also mentioned the release of three visual novels called Fatal Twelve, Diary Princess, The Emerald Tablet. However, they did not specify on when will they be available yet.

 

According to ANN:

Narcissu is a series of linear visual novels that explores themes relating to terminal illness and the relationship between the living and the dying. Sekai Project, in collaboration with Narcissu series’ creator Stage-nana, is remaking the visual novel series with new art, re-recorded voices, and an entirely new scenario. The anthology includes four games in the Narcissu series: Zero, A Little Iris, Himeko’s Epilogue, and the brand new chapter Sumire.

AniplexUSA

Aniplex of America joined Otakon and announced that they will screen the anime film Kizumonogatari II: Nekketsu-hen (Passionate Blood) in theaters on October. Movie company Azoland Pictures will be distributing the film with exclusive content for people participating in the movie and Aniplex will sell tickets at the site. The screening will be in English Subs and Japanese Dub.

 

The first film will be shown at Canada on August 28 in select 4 theaters.

Besides the films, Aniplex of America confirmed that they will rerelease the DVD boxsets to Fate/Zero.

Discotek Media

Also announced Discotek Media obtained the license to these anime titles:

  • the Arcadia of My Youth
  • Urusei Yatsura: Beautiful Dreamer anime films
  • Lupin III: Island of Assassins
  • Lupin III: Operation Return the Treasure specials
  • Charge Man Ken

They will also release Blu-Ray discs of Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture and 5 Centimeters Per Second.

Not really Otakon News but this is surprising about Pokemon Go.

With Pokemon Go released all over the world, users are now capturing Pokemon in the real world with their smart phones. However, it’s surprisingly to hear that Satoru Iwata, A Nintendo video game programmer and businessman, actually created the idea of Pokemon Go which is his lasting legacy.

Even when he was suffering at the hospital, Iwata tiredlessly worked with Pokemon Compnay President Tsunekazu Ishihara with video chat. His idea was to make a Pokemon game where children would go out and play without having to spend money. This was one of Iwata’s last contribution to gamers in his time of death.
